Portraits of Compassion is a deeply personal documentary that chronicles the work of my parents, Saul Bromberger and Sandra Hoover, who documented the AIDS epidemic in the 80s and 90s. Challenges & Approach

One of the biggest challenges was to convey the profound impact of the AIDS epidemic through a lens that balances historical context with personal narratives. To achieve this, we integrated archival footage, personal interviews, and their extensive collection of photographs. Our approach was to create a narrative that honors the resilience and compassion of those affected, while also highlighting my parents' commitment to capturing these moments with empathy and respect.
